Ever since registering for Bio Honors at orientation i've been wondering whether or not i should take it. I passed the placement test they required and i also got a 5 on the Bio AP test but was told that medical schools don't want for you to claim credit and prefer for you to actually take the class. So the question is whether or not i should take Bio HONORS and possibly get a B, Or take a regular biology course which will be reiteration and most likely a fairly easy A. (Take GPA for med. school into acount). The only advantage of taking honors would be credit for "Genetics" and a much better proffesor. The rest of my schedule is fairly easy ( 12 hrs. cal, chem, research) with M408K being the toughest course.

Off topic: When they say the dorms are coop. does that mean that both genders share the same floor or are the doorms set up as in each floor is either male or female (i.e floor 1 - girls... floor 2 guys...floor 3 girls....etc.)

Thnx in advanced, hook 'em!

I suggest you go for the course that would be most beneficial to your GPA. I’m not wise when it comes to med. school, though, so I don’t know if they would consider the rigor involved in the honors biology.

I would suggest you actually take the Honors Intro to Genetics class. Try to sign up for it if you can. The cut-off for an A is either an 80 or an 85 (depending on the professor).

I’m actually already registered for the class, i was just wondering whether or not to exchange it for a regular class. Thanks for the reply though. Interesting enough, i learned something about myself by writing this thread. I only take into account what i want to hear…when i read the previous reply that said i shouldn’t take the class, i was thinking…“I’ll just take it anyways”, yet, when i read your reply saying i should, I was convinced. Every time i ask my girlfriend for her opinion she says, “why do you ask if you’re still gonna do what you want”. it makes sense now…

sorry for the rant and minor epiphany…and i’m also staying in moore-hill
