Hey,

I'm posting for a friend wondering how a 4 on the Bio AP affects the transfer requirements to CALS. The Cornell Website says you get 4 hours from this score, but does this mean you don't have to take the second semester of Bio? Or how does it work?

Any help would be greatly appreciated because she can't get through to the Cornell office because of her class schedule and I figure CC is the best place for such info. Thanks.

Nevermind. Some sleuthing around the Cornell site got me the answer. Check the transfer thread if anyone is interested.

what's the answer? post it!

Haha.

If one gets a 4 on the Bio AP, they have only completed ONE HALF of the Bio 1 and 2 reaquirement, i.e. Bio 1. To successfully complete the prereq, the student MUST enroll in Bio 2 either at their own university or at a local community college. They can opt to take the class at Cornell, BUT that will negatively hurt their application for admission.

If students indicate a definite course of action where they plan to take the course in the coming semester or in the summer, then Cornell will not weigh those circumstances negatively.
