So, I'm gearing up for the SAT Subject Test in Bio in October. Now, do colleges really care what type you take? For example, I want to apply to top schools including Yale EA, but I'm not interested in being a Science major; if anything, I just want to take Bio to balance my Subject Tests. So, if I take Bio E, will it matter?
Secondly, and most importantly, what is the BEST prep book for Bio? Also, how is the SAT in Bio compared to the AP class? Easier or harder? More or less detailed? Lastly, is the curve generous?

Thanks a bunch!

PRINCETON REVIEW!!!

don't listen to the barron's crap. it's detailed but useless.

the princeton review tests were similar to the actual test (about 5 problems were almost the same) however, the actual difficulty is harder, (especially the 2nd test).

SAT Biology is less topic than covered in AP biology, but it's slightly more detailed. the curve..is not good, not as good as a lot of other tests.

i think i heard that biology M looks better on a college app, because it's harder (not in my opinion, i did both sets of questions but choose M) and the scale is worse.

i agree; princeton review is definitely the way to go.

i originally planned on taking e, and geared my studying towards that, but after doing both sets of questions i felt more confident with my m answers and submitted those

don't decide what you are going to take until the test day.
for me, I planned on taking M, but ended up taking E since i saw the questions were easier/less confusing.

Wait, are you allowed see both tests on test day? I would take M, but I'm horrible at the biochemistry stuff. Does Princeton Review cover materials from both tests?

you're "supposed to" decide which test you're taking before the actual day, but since both tests are in the same booklet a couple of pages away from each other most people do, or at least look at, both tests.

princeton review covers everything on the test, and there are 2 full practice tests in the back of the book

All right, thanks everyone!
