Biochemistry for premed?

I am graduating early from high school this year as a junior and want to go into pre-med at University of Maryland (CP). I was thinking about what major would be best to take. I like chemistry and biology. I also like psychology/behavioral sciences. Would it be smarter to take biochemistry, biology, or chemistry for pre-med, or to take psychology for pre-med (my GPA would probably be higher).

And if biochem, bio, or chem, which one would you suggest? I was leaning towards biochem because it is not ONLY chem or ONLY bio and I like both. But would it be hard to handle (as I am graduating early).

Another thing is, if I don't make it to med-school, I think there would be a lot more job options for a field like biochem as compared to something like psychology.

Sorry. Have a lot of questions at the same time.

As long as you take all the classes needed for medical school admissions/to be well prepared for the MCAT it does not matter which major you take. If it is offered at University of Maryland you might want to look into neuroscience which combines psychology and biology. Pick a major you will enjoy, not just the one that you think will be easiest or get you into medical school. Either way you don’t declare your major right away, so take intro classes in all those topics and see what you enjoy.

Thanks. Would you happen to know what career options come with biochemistry if I do not take the pre-med path? Or with psychology?
