I'm a senior right now and I applied to UW. If I end up going there I'd want to do a premed kinda thing, I put bioeng on my application but I was wondering out of bioengineering, biochem and molecular/cellular/developmental biology, which is the best for premeds (or what's the best major overall for premed if it's not one of those three)? Considering things like MCAT prep and GPA?

The best major is the one you like the most and will succeed in the most. If that’s bioengineering, then go for it and don’t care about what anyone else thinks is “better”. Most of your MCAT studying will take place outside of class and there is no “best major” for pre-meds.

However, GPA is very important for medical school so you may want to pick a somewhat easier major while still fulfilling all of your medical school requirements. Not to say that bioengineering majors can’t also be pre-med, but it is a difficult major and especially so if you are pre-med as well.
