yea 8-11, 12:30-3:30, 5-8
and then tuesday 12:30 to 3:30
yeah i don’t know if i can make it through this =/

@batman: yeah that sounds right.

36 on Fall 2009 Fischer’s midterm:

In yeast, a eukaryote, the RNA polymerase that transcribes the GAL-4 gene

A. also transcribes primers for Okizaki fragments
B. also transcribes tRNA genes
C. can bind and initiate transcription without help from general transcription factors
D. can bind an initiate transcription without help from regulatory transcription factors
E. None of the above

answer is E, but why can’t it be B?

nvm, RNAPII only does mRNA, not tRNA

what’s the reason it’s not D? i thought transcription can be done through general transcription factors, albeit just not at an appreciable rate

yeah not too sure. I would have said D. Those are the type of questions you have to just complain about and see where it goes because in the notes, it says it just goes at a slow, basal rate with general tfs. but with specific it goes high…

how do they know that the agamous allele is mutated by a transposon?

if they see a weird phenotype (no reproductive organs) they know

how’s everyone doing? i’m almost done with genetics, then i have to review the photosynthesis stuff, and then spend some time on the forte crap…

i’m stressing out on forte…dude some of the stuff on the midterm wasn’t even in the reader…

forte is a ******

Oh how I wish we had Firestone…

the biotech stuff on fischer’s section is still really blurry for me. How are you all going about understanding the material?

i’m really disliking this practice 2002 final.

is it from different professors or something because the questions are very different from the midterm questions…

■■■ i need an A in this classssss

Lol…I’m just trying to stay on a B and not go down

So ****** for forte. Looking over his middy, half the questions come from the goddamn text

his questions on the 2002 final were a lot more reasonable

btw do we get bio1a grades by wednesday as well? or just bio1al?

almost game time, bahhh i regret slacking off and not starting studying earlier

it’s okay. what’d you think of it? some questions were still a bit tricky, but at least fischer’s dominated most of it

Yeah, I agree. it wasn’t so bad because it was mostly the last section of stuff. Forte’s part screwed me over though…I probably got almost half of those wrong.

I felt like Forte’s part was easier this time around though. Fischer’s part was more confusing but I think that was just because I didn’t really study it. Or study at all. :[
