Biology 1B Final - Ecology portion...

hey, that final seemed to have effed us all up so don’t be too worried just yet.
i remember my gsi saying that they’ll plot the grades and then distribute grades according to that so that might take a while. im not so worried about it just yet since i have an essay to worry about. :[

It’s going to take a few days for grades to be completely tallied up.

I can give you guys a heads up on when they will be meeting and doing the curving.

that’s awesome tastybeef, you’re a UGSI i’m assuming?

Yeah, I’m a UGSI.

man i was so confident ill get an A, but after the stupid lab curve and that final, I don’t even know if I can get an A-!!!

this course is really unfair

Many of the ecology section questions elicited the “***” reaction from me :(. I’m pretty sure that they will give credit for both LDP and SDP for the canada-panama question or at least take it out.

Well nothing we can do now but hope. Study for your other finals :).

jw…the chicks was a supplement experiment right? cuz…they’re adding chicks…or was it cage…doh

i thought it was cage b/c varying densities. but i was stumped by that one as well.

i don’t think they take out questions :frowning: sad. hopefully they give credit for both!

what was the best way to measure density?

i’m not sure if i’m thinking of the right question, but i don’t remember a supplemental exp. as an answer. i think it was cage because you’re controlling the density of the organisms.

hmm. wasn’t the supplemental answer for the one about the river?
I said cage too for the nesting one, they’re varying densities.

i thought it was a removal exp.
they didn’t really control the density…removing/adding eggs is not really a change of density. you generally change densities of producers or consumers…i don’t see this as a density exp…

every question could go either way mannn this sucks

the sad thing is, we won’t be able to get the test back and argue for points b/c our answers may make sense…

i don’t remember the river expt…

also…in a cage experiment there is usually the exhbition of the “cage effect” and there was no such observation

as sawyer says quite well in Lost…son of a *****…

I could E because it didn’t seem like it was any of those experiments…
Great… But yeah, I hated his questions because it seemed like there were so many choices that could potentially be right. :[

omg…I did pretty horrible on the ecology portion… wasn’t expecting to receive such a low score on it. how did everyone else do? :</p>

no bspace, so i have to wait until tomorrow for bearfacts i think…

what did you get in the class sn0angel?

The average for the midterm was 71.67% and 70.42% for the final. :(

Has anyone heard if they will curve? And what “normal” averages are for the past?
