Biology and computer science major .

Hey there , I'm an UG Intl. student , joining Valparaiso University this fall. As the title suggests I have decided to do a double major in Biology & Computer science . I wish to be a doctor as of now . The chair of pre-med committee recommended that I do take :General biology(1&2) , Calculus(1) , General chemistry(1&2) , Organic Chemistry(1) , General Physics(1& 2) , Bio-chemistry(1) & Human anatomy and physiology(1&2) for pre med . I have read reviews about the difficulty of the course and in fact , i did some face-face talking with parents of intl. students who do pre-med . I know its not a walk in the park but considering the computer and math courses as well( I can't drop the C.Sc major) - my plans are getting a bit strenuous - considering the schedule . I decided to do either human anatomy or general biology in the first year in contrast to my previous decision to do both in the first year . My second year is loaded up with bio-chemistry, org chem , and 3-4 math and C.s courses . Im afraid that I might over do my selection - over estimating my capacity . Plus , if I choose to do general biology in the first year , the schedule becomes intensely stretched (Lots of gaps between classes - ranging from 10 mins - 4 hours : affects my concentration and study patterns ) .I could also do take both but then as i told you - very strenuous . Please advise on w hat I should on this .
Thank You

You don’t need a Biology degree to get into Medical School. You can do it from a Computer Science degree as long as you take elective courses which meet the admission requirements for Medical School. Since you are an international student, you are already paying a lot for your B.S. degree and then there is medical school… So you should not take an extra year to get a second B.S. degree in Biology. Get your undergraduate studies done in 4 years and then move on to Medical School.
