Ok, well I am kind of conflicted between applying to Rice ED and Yale SCEA. My goal is to major in biology and then attend med school (hopefully a fairly prestigious one....but ya thats far off...really far off). Just based upon the biology departments at each school and research opportunities each provides to undergrads, which school would set me up for sucess more?

You’re asking the wrong question. The right question is, “if I apply to Rice ED and get in, will I be delighted to go there and happy that I can’t apply anywhere else?” (Not to mention finances, if that’s an issue.) If the answer is no, then you shouldn’t do ED.

In addition, getting into medical school is dependent on your GPA and MCAT scores, not which of two prestigious schools you went to.

Thanks so much for the advice! However, does either school have a decisively better biology department that would better train me for the MCAT and teach me more the sciences?

Why not look up both the Biology majors on their respective websites, check out the courses available and see which one appeals to you more. The same major can emcompass a lot of different courses, and you might find yourself suited to one more than the other.

These are two excellent schools, there’s not going to be any drastic differences in their ability to give you a good education.

Unless you can afford to - that is, don’t require financial aid - applying ED is a bad idea, since you limit your ability to maximize your offer.
