I was wondering what the difference was between the two. I looked both of them up on google and came to the department of biology both times. So is there a difference?

Also, what is the difference between pre med and taking a major like biology. I know that obviously they will be different in some aspects but won't both of them fulfill the course requirements necessary to applying to med school?

I’m assuming that Biology and Biological Sciences are the same thing. I’ve only ever heard of a Biology department/undergrad major here.

As for your second question, biology is a major, while pre-med is not. Pre-med is just the set of courses you have to take to apply to med school; you still have to have a major, which may or may not overlap significantly with the pre-med requirements. There are a few courses not required by the biology major that are required for pre-med (a second semester of Physics, for one).
