in addition to the year of required biology at my school for the MCAT, I am taking an interesting class called Topics in Organismal Biology, which focuses on biodiversity. Even though this does not count toward the med school requirement, does it count towards BCPM gpa?

Yes .

yes, all Biology, Chemistry, Physics, and Math classes count. Even the introductory level ones.

does pre-cal count too?

Are we not being clear?! Everything in the departments of Biology, Chemistry, Physics, or Math counts!

Hi BDM, does general chem count?

If it's offered by the math department, yes. GenChem offered by the Economics department is a tougher call.

bdm, I think we all knew THAT. But what if you were at an Ivy and took GenChem BEFORE lunch ? Would it still count in BMCP (BCPM)? What if you were on a full-ride scholarship? Or would that matter?

The thing is that BCPM also stands for "Before college provides meals". So actually it's classes in the afternoon that you should worry about.

O.K.. Got it. Thanks, bdm.

I don't get it.

ysk. This is on the QT. The alternate definition of BCPM is found in the MSAR. You better get one PDQ or you might end up SOL.

ysk, it was a joke. bdm is trying to make a point , repeatedly I might add, that ANY math, bio, chem, physics class is included in BCPM. GS and I were just "helping".
