Biology in one week!! Should I take it??

I have never taken a biology course in high school, but I pretty much imprinted PR and sparknotes bio into my brain!! I have taken the first 3 sparknotes bio-m tests and got 720, 760, 760 respectively!! I hear that sparknotes is harder than the real thing! If so is this good enough for me to take the may bio-m test??
( I seriously need 750+) Also, for quite a bit of the questions, I didn't know them off the bat, but it kinda took me a second to think about them and make an educated guess, is that normal or should it be second nature? I have been reading past threads about Bio (e.g. may bio e/m 2008) and it seems as if the test had quite a bit of completely random questions! IS that the norm or should PR and sparknotes be enough!! I also kind of skimmed cliffs ap bio 2nd edition and barrons sat 2 bio (1998)! SO should I take the may test what do you think!! Also if I do bad and retake, does it look bad on my college app??

Also, is the REA Sat 2 biology book any good??

I would definately take it if your scoring like that. I personally thought the sparknotes test to be about the same . Not sure about REA but Barron’s does a great job with information but with your scres you most likely don’t need it. I am retaking it in May as well. nad I haven’t studied yet. Mya advice to you because the Bio sat is pretty easy. Use this one week to reread a review book , on wednesday and friday take practice tests and make sure you review them.

Not hard at all one week of reading should do the trick. I feel you could easily pull a 750 but yes some questions are really out there. You need to use critical thinking and inferences for the chart/graph quesitons

Which one is easier, Bio E or M?
And how did you prepare for it?

Thanxx =)

In my personal opinion I think E is easier. There is a minor curve difference and because they "think " E is harder, taking E will probably give you an extra 10-20 points at the most. Not much but at least its something. Molecular is full on memorization , so if you don’t know it thats it. Ecology however tends to be making inferences by chart or questions about animals and symbiosis. I think with Ecology you have a better chance at guessing.

I advise you take both and see which one you do better in. If you feel your equal, then take Ecology. Also, the day of the test you can skim through (assuming you have enough time) and look at the questions of both, just make sure you change the top part of what you picked on your answer sheet( your proctor should remind you to do this). that way you see which has more questions you think you can answer.

How I prepared: I took regular level (not honors) Biology in freshman year. Honestly by the time I learned about subject tests( this year: junior year) I forgot everythign I ever learned. Legit everything. I took a paractice test and got a 420… So I read through my Princeton Review book and got that score up to a 600. When I finally bought the Barron’s book( honestly a must have) I was scoring 700 on BB practice test and 760 on Barron’s practice test. People say if you get a 750 on barron’s= 800. However I guess not for me cause I got a 700 on the actual in January( but I messed up badly on 4 questions). All I plan to do for the May is read the book in this week and take it. hoping for a 750~. Sorry this is terribly long.
