I liked biology and can remember alot from my classes. I took the test on collegeboard. Should I study for this test is it easy. Do you think it is wise to just refresh my memory only.

It’s always a good idea to study. The test has a quite-unforgiving curve. What score are you aiming for?

I remember that on this year’s test, ecology was wayyy too hard. But I attempted both sections during the test and found M easier, I got a 800, but my friend who took E also got an 800. So I guess try a practice test and see which you do better on, regardless of the curve.

What you you mean by unforgiving curve is it because of the time limit?

^It usually means that missing a few questions can cause your score to drop quickly. For example, the Math II test has a generous curve, which means that you can miss a few and still get an 800. If the curve was unforgiving, however, missing a few might give you a 750 or so.

Sparknotes scoring scale: <a href=“SparkNotes: Today's Most Popular Study Guides”>SparkNotes: Today's Most Popular Study Guides;

For an 800, you have to get 79 right and one blank, or 80 right.

So do I need a superscore of 800 or is 700 okay?

^ What do you mean? There is no superscoring with Subject Tests.

what I mean is do I really need to get all the questions right?

^No. You can miss a few questions and potentially receive an 800

I don’t think you really NEED an 800 anyway, any 750+ should be competitive enough for most/any schools.

yeah that’s what I ment.

What would be a bad score by the way?

Anything below 500, in my opinion. Decent scores are 600 range, solid/competitive 700+

Thank you I asked Merced and they haven’t said anything yet.

I got 620 on both test?!? Is that normal to have the same score on both test?

It’s not very common, but I imagine that it happens to many people. It really should not cause any alarm to get the same score.
