biology major: Pomona or Haverford

I am going to major in biology (interested in molecular/cellular biology) and then plan to go to graduate school. Pomona and Haverford are quite different, but I like both. Which one will give the better chance to get in good PhD program?

Thanks.

Pomona is excellent in biology...probably the best of the claremont schools (on par with Harvey Mudd).

I'd say go for Pomona. It has very strong programs across the board, and you can cross register at the other Claremont colleges.

These two schools are comparable. The more important issue should be which school you would better fit in. If you study well, find research opportunities, and get excellent recommendations, either school should prepare you well for PhD in biology. Pick the school you'll be happier at for the next four years. If you're unhappy, chances are you won't do as well in school or seek research opportunities.

Both are strong for bio, but I would give the edge to Pomona, especially with the new state of the art lab complex.

As does Haverford, where one can cross-register with Swarthmore, Bryn Mawr, and Penn.

Both will do equally well, but personally I prefer the atmosphere of Pomona.
