Biology Major: UCSD or Berkeley?

I Have been admitted to both UC Berkeley and UCSD for Biology. I am having a tough time deciding on which college. I have heard SD's Biology program is really good, and holds a very good reputation. I also know that Berkeley has a very good reputation in general, and not necessarily in Biology. Does anyone have any opinions that they want to share to help me decide which college is best for my major?

Do you plan on doing pre-med, or Bio for the sake of Bio? I plan on majoring in Biochemistry, and then possibly getting a PhD, and Berkeley’s Biochem program is ranked #1.

Berkeley’s Biology program is as good if not better than UCSD’s, especially in Graduate studies.

UCSD’s bio program is better than Berkeley’s, but Berkeley is a better school overall. Unless you’re completely sure you want to major in bio, go to Berkeley.

San Diego is a better city to live in than Berkely IMO

UCSD is in La Jolla, though. It’s hard to get to the actual city without a car.

trying to determine which program is better is pathetic. I would just determine where I would fit in better

SD’s bio program is not better than Berkeley’s.
