I'm a junior considering Michigan. I'd really like to double major in biology and Near Eastern Studies. Does anyone have any information about the quality of these departments? Also, how hard would it be to double major in these areas?

double majoring in those might be difficult but if you're really into it, go ahead. I might double major in microbiology/international relations or north africian and middle easter studies. I hear the science department is actually pretty good.

A good friend of mine double majored in Biology and Near/Middle Eastern Studies and she had a great time at Michigan. A double major is always demanding, but it can be done. She went on to Dental School after graduation.

As far as the quality of the departments, Michigan is generally considered top 10 (or thereabout) in both those fields, so you really cannot go wrong.

i know somebody at michigan majoring in middle eastern studies and she said that the program was great...
