Biology or Neuroscience?

Hi there! So, I'm trying to figure which major I really want to pursue. I'm a pre-med student in my first semester at a university. I'm planning on transferring soon to a school with a neuroscience program. I really like biology, but I LOVE neuroscience. I know many would automatically tell me to go neuroscience because I'm obviously more passionate about it and would probably excel at it more since I enjoy it, but I'm wondering if it makes more sense to major in something broader like biology. I could major in biology and minor in neuroscience. Maybe that would satisfy my neuroscience hunger while still giving me a bit broader of a background if medical school doesn't work out. Or maybe even the other way around with a neuroscience major and a biology minor? I'm thinking that might not make as much sense. Maybe even double majoring would work? I'm a bit confused as to what would be the best decision. All I know is that I love neuroscience and I like biology as well, but I definitely would want to take at least a few neuroscience classes in the future. Any advice is much appreciated!

Why do you think that it would be better to stick with something broader like biology? For pre-med?
For medical school, you can usually fulfill all of your pre-med requirements with neuroscience. For choosing a major for pre-med, I think it’s most important to do something you’re passionate about, not just because you think something will look better on an application. I don’t think med schools would look at neuroscience vs. biology very differently.
