I am taking AP Biology now and have to read the textbook. Honestly, I don't like science but stll want to take this class for both the AP and the subject test purpose. So my teacher makes us read chapters, and the wordings are really weird. I'm using Campell textbook now and super complicated.
Question: How do you read a science textbook and understand while remember it at the same time?

read slowly, if you don’t understand reread, then said it in your own words, then reread, then explain it to yourself, then reread, etc. Read a section then outline the important points if you didn’t understand it, reread it. Very time consuming but you’ll get it.

Or make yourself smarter that would be the less time consuming method.

I have to argue against that statement, belly. My class uses Campbell and it is an EXCELLENT textbook! I think that the problem is that you don’t like science/biology. I am really interested in it so i guess that’s why i like the book. But yeah, make sure you understand the material and not just memorize it . If you have to, re read the passae or chapter. Good Luck

Campbell’s is a GREAT textbook. I loved it, but it did take some getting used to. You just need to immerse yourself in the text. Read aloud, draw diagrams, take notes, make outlines. At first, you might have to spend ungodly amounts of hours reading a single chapter or two, but once you figure it out, you will become more efficient.

Try to find videos and animations online ([Khan Academy](<a href=“Khan Academy | Free Online Courses, Lessons & Practice”>Khan Academy | Free Online Courses, Lessons & Practice)) or other supplements that help visualize the information or otherwise present it in a different manner than the text.
