Biology vs. Chemistry - Cardiologist Major

I'm looking to find the best major to pursue cardiology. All the time when I search or talk to people who are experienced in the health care field, they tell me cardiologist take biology OR chemistry except few websites who tell me biology is better or chemistry is better... therefore, I am still stuck in the middle not knowing whether biology or chemistry is better.

I want to pick which one is the BEST for cardiology?

You can take the pre-med courses alongside any major, not just biology or chemistry.

If you do make it into medical school, the medical school will teach you what you need to know about your medical specialty.

You can take any major as long as you take the premed requirements for med school (check the schools that you are interested in, but runs something like 1 yr math, 1 yr physics, 1 yr bio, 1 yr pchem, 1 yr ochem and some biochem). Thus pick what you are interested in, even English, Econ, Art History, UG Business, Poly Sci, Biochem Engineering, Bio, Chem, Math, etc.

The problem with taking Bio is that many students who apply to med school majored in Bio, thus you don’t stand out as much. If you take something more unusual, you stand out more and would round out the class (think undergrad apps all over again!!! but everyone has higher GPAs.) Thus, if you were equally interested in bio and chem, I’d do Chem. But even better would be to pick what you are most interested in!!! I think that Art Majors are cool and BioChemical engineering majors are totally impressive.
