I could use some help. I know I want to do biomedical research, perhaps in pharmacology or neuroscience, but I don't want to be limited to the point where if there's a major recession and no one is giving research grants, I'll be out of work. What kind of major and field should I be looking at? I was thinking about Biomedical Engineering, but now I'm not so sure. Also, can you suggest some good schools for me? My scores and GPA are not probably second or third tier, not Ivy level but still solid schools.

Thought about Biochem/Molecular Biology? Similar to your interest and a constantly growing field.

Biomed engineering is fine. There are lots of innovations being made in biotech.

There’s no point in trying to predict which job fields a future recession would affect, anyway, since not even the chairman of the Federal Reserve can predict recessions far in advance.

Thank you :)
