No, I’m still waiting on Cornell also. They told me about a week and a half ago that it may take through the end of Feb/beginning of March to get all the acceptances/rejections out. They accept people as they receive complete files from the admissions office, and a lot of times they just accept one person per day or couple of days. Apparently they don’t hold big meetings like most of the other programs do, its more of a continuous process.

lpolstein, are you referring to the MEng at Cornell?

no, the bme phd program

Ah, ok that makes sense.

pthak88 congratz!! do you know if it was a mass email?

and as for cornell, a professor told me they’re sending out letters so i should get mine very soon… but that’s weird because hhhcce got an email … hopefully they’re taking it slow as lpolstein said…! hhhcce! did they offer you to visit before you make the decision??

@uneoao Did u also get admit from Cornell ??

@itssaan no i havent heard anything from cornell…

i got into georgia tech! i got the acceptance email today

Congratulations @uneoao…

I called Cornell today and they told me that my appln hasn’t been looked at yet… The person I talked to, told me that they r looking at each and every appln and then making a decision and sending it out… And tht it might take few weeks for a decision on my appln… I don’t know what tht means… I sent all docs atleast 3 weeks before deadline… So I’m not sure wht’s happening…

@uneoao: congratz! was there no interview for gatech? if so when was it? still haven’t heard anything back from them yet…

uneoa:

did you apply for Bioengineering in Gatech? if so, through what department?

@wheretogonext: thanks! there was no interview… they just sent me the email, but I got invited to visit during the recruitment visit

@parisa1986: I applied for biomedical engineering, not bioengineering

@uneoao: i suppose you got the email in your gatech account? it’s weird cuz after activating my gatech account, i haven’t gotten a single email from them. did you get a confirmation email saying that your app was completed and is under review, etc? btw are you international or us resident?

@wheretogonext they sent the email to my original email address, not the gatech one… in fact, i had it forwarded to my undergrad email account.

i did get the confirmation email and the direction to check the status of app, which by the way is totally not updated at all. and i’m an international student, but i’m in the US for college.

@uneoao: i see. thanks for the info. i sure hope they haven’t sent out all the offers yet.

Hadn’t seen a BU update on here for some time…I just received a rejection letter, dated 2/12/10, from Boston University Biomedical Engineering. Good luck to the rest of you that are waiting to hear back from them!

@synthbio, did you receive the letter by email, us post office, or fedex/ups? also, are you international? thanks for the update!

I received the letter via USPS, and I am not international. Also, the letter said that the Grad Admissions Committee suggested, “based on my interests,” that my application be forwarded to the Molecular Cell Biology and Biochemistry Department. Although I had not previously considered a degree outside of engineering, this would still allow me to work with the professor that is the reason I applied to BU in the first place (as he is a faculty member in the interdisciplinary MCBB program). Coined response to all rejected Biomed Eng applicants? Maybe. I, however, will remain optimistic. Hope you receive good news from them :)
