I’m currently applying for graduate school and have been accepted to biomedical engineering programs and computational biology/bioinformatics programs. Which degree would be better to pursue. The biomedical engineering programs I have applied to have a division in computational biology.
Have you compared the course curriculum of the different programs? Which one has courses that you are most interested? What type of job are you hoping to get after college? Bioinformatics is much more math/computer oriented (i.e… genomics).
I haven’t thought of what I want to do after graduate school? Leaning more toward working in industry or a small company, but this can certainly change. Both programs have flexible coursework. You can essentially choose whichever courses you want with the exception of 2 to 3 core courses.
