Ok, so I am interested in Biomedical Engineering. I have done some research on it and have found a ton of mixed results.I have some questions about it that I would like to know about.

  1. How does the occupational outlook compare to other engineering careers? ( all engineering is interesting to me)
  2. What does the salary look like? In my research I have found as little as 33k clear up to 80k as an average salary. This is really confusing me. Thanks in advance

Why do you find the concept of a salary range confusing?

Because the average salaries I found were so different. Which is it? 33k to 80k is a big leap. I’m still talking average annual salary.

From my quick research, I see around it being more around 90k. When I look at salaries, I go through the BLS since its a gov’t run site, not just some random one where people post.The surveys used to collect the data have a ton of variables, so you’ll find a ton of different numbers.

You probably want to know the median starting salary.

It’s about $60K.

Yes, a huge one, like in really any other job

Ty, is there a cite I can get on that has a bunch of information on engineering in general? Or specifically biomedical.
