<p>Not exactly breaking news to many of us Floridians. With Scripts settling in in Palm Beach County, and Burnham finally deciding yesterday to go to Orlando and associate with the new UCF medical school, Torry Pines is finally getting serious about picking a location. They have been in the news in my area for months. Seems Tallahassee was working behind the scenes, but Orlando and Boca Raton have been jockeying in the open for some time.</p>
<p>The UCF med school is not yet a reality. The Florida Legislature must agree.</p>

<p>'Tallahassee's offer centers around a partnership with Florida State University, which has scientists that already work with researchers at Torrey Pines, said Brad Day, executive director of the Economic Development Council of Tallahassee/Leon County.</p>
<p>"We have presented an incentive package to the company and we think it's competitive with the other packages that are out there," he said. "We'd like to center our proposal on the competitive advantages that we have."</p>
<p>Neither Port St. Lucie nor Tallahassee have publicly revealed the value of their offers.</p>
<p>Torrey Pines is required to tell the state its decision by Sept. 5 to apply for matching funds.'</p>
