accepted

hey everyone... I'm kelly from Tampa. I got accept to FSU for Fall 2006. Who else is going there? My housing choices are Gilchrist, Landis, Reynolds, and then Bryan. What hall is everyone living in?

DD was accepted too but is waiting on other college acceptances before she decides where to go. If she goes to FSU she will try for Landis and Gilchrist.

I got accepted to FSU yesterday, but they said I have to attend the summer term since i'm not as competitive of a student as everyone else according to them. I'm trying to see if there's any way out of it. I'll send them my mid-year grades and everything

hey, congrats to you all. I have to wait until January 15 :(

KingJames23, you're out of state right?

Yeah, I'm OOS

Yea i got in a few months ago, Im looking at Bryan, Cawthorne, and Gilhirst. Im still waiting for other schools but i already did the residency payement just in case. I live in Palm beach Gardens.

Is FSU as good of a school as UF? Any info would be great

It depends on what you mean by "as good of a school". UF is well known to be the academically top public in the state of Florida. FSU has a few programs (like the music and film) that are nationally known to be excellent. Both schools are known for their school spirit and football teams. UF is more selective in terms of admissions than FSU...but not for music/film. US News and World Report gave UF a ranking of 50 (first tier) whereas FSU had a ranking of 109. That said, if you are going into music, FSU is tops in Florida. The students seems to be equally happy (at both schools).

if youre doing physics or biology or chemistry, both schools are pretty even, although fsu is really going upwards in those, especially physics. tallahassee is a better town then gainesville, though.

UF's harder to get into and is known for its excellent academic and athletic programs. it's also a larger school and attracts more national merit scholars than every school in the country except Harvard. It is comprised of 95% Florida residents. i'm from SC and feel lucky to have gotten in, I may go there!
