Biomedical sciences major, useful?

Hi, I am a recently admitted student in texas a&m, and I was accepted into biomedical sciences major because I am very interested in a major where biology is more focused in human health. But here's the problem, I've heard and read about people saying this is a useless B.S major, is it true? is it just only to cover the requirements for medical school and nothing more? I would like to read some opinions. Would I get a decent job with just a B.S in biomed? or should I consider changing majors into something that would be more useful, like microbiology?
Thanks

BioMed is all research…and to do well aka getting better position in research, you need Phd. If you have only BS, you will still find job but it is not good for career move.

More importantly, BioMed usually is a stepping stone into Med School so if you are not into Med School then I would suggest you go all the way to Phd.

So, would you recommend to do microbiology as a BS and then do a Phd biomed program? or just stay with biomed as BS and continue with the Phd in biomed? Maybe it depends whether microbiology BS gives more job opportunities and better salary than a biomed BS?
