has anyone successfully had balloons or birthday cake delivered to their student at USC? what services did you use? and did you deliver to the dorm?

I have a freshman child at USC who will celebrate their birthday this month and I want to add some fun to the day.

I have thought of shipping a few mylar balloons - but not sure they will make it. Then I have thought of a party in a box, but not sure a cake will make it either. So, I was wondering if anyone has used any delivery services in Columbia to make birthdays special?

There’s a store in 5 points called Insomnia Cookies that makes wonderful cookies and will deliver cookies and milk to the dorms…maybe not a cake but easy to share!

Also, check usc dining page. Sometimes food service at schools does this.

If you decide to deliver to a dorm, you’d have to let your child know, because they’d have to meet the person. You can’t get mail delivered to a dorm.

I second insomnia cookies. That would be a great way to celebrate a birthday. I’ve had a couple of friends order from there for their birthdays.

I don’t know about cakes but I’ve had popcorn tins delivered – you can find them online.

They’re easy to share and they’ll deliver by UPS/FedEx/USPS to the mailboxes. Not quite as “birthday”-ish but they don’t get smooshed and they last longer than a cake.
