Hi I really want to transfer to UCI from my CC in fall 2012 and I was wondering if you guys think i have a chance of getting in. My GPA is a 3.2 right now and Im sure i can bring it up a bit before I apply, I am part of an honors program in which I have to take 5 honors courses before i transfer, I played 3 years of sports in highschool, I will have 2 years of work experience, and I have been teaching sunday school and did the readings during the church service for 3 years now. This is more for peace of mind, but what do you guys think about my chances of getting accepted?

You can be guaranteed through TAG.

You don’t need to do honors unless you want to be part of the CHP at UCI.

mmk thanks! and i know but will the honors program make it even more of a sure thing if i tag as well. The only college i really wanna go to is UCI so i wanna make sure i get in :P

Finishing the honors program isn’t going to hurt you in any way, unless taking an honors class really messes up your schedule for certain semesters. If you finish all the requirements for the TAG then you are guaranteed admission and honors is not necessary.

UCSD min gpa is 3.5
UCSB min gpa is 3.2(IIRC)
UCI min gpa is 3.0

ahh okay thank you! I started stressing hard today cause i just heard about UCSD moving their min GPA up so i was concerned that UCI would do the same. I think ill be able to have a 3.5 by the time I transfer and I have a lot of EC’s so with the tag program i wont even break a sweat about getting accepted Thanks again for all the helpful info everyone it really took a load off my shoulders!
