bizecon vs plain econ?

What are the differences between "Business Economics" and just plain "Economics"?

I really want to do "Business Administration", but the college I'm probably going to attend (UCSB), doesn't have that. They do have "Businss Economics." So also what are the differences between Business Administration and Business Economics?

And are there different job opportunities for Business Administration majors vs Business Economics majors?

The difference between economics and business economics is marginal compared to the difference between business economics and business administration. Business economics is basically economics with a few business classes that are related to economics (finance, accounting, organizational behavior, etc.). Business administration is far less economics based. Business administration will offer a wider variety business classes which include a greater amount of classes in the former fields as well as fields such as marketing. Both majors offer almost the same job opportunities unless a company is looking specifically for marketing majors or something like that. Biz econ is a good major for fields in finance or general business.

veritas949: thanks for your input. ahhh business admin sounds a lot more appealing, i find it annoying no UC's have it other than the competitive Haas at Berkeley, and UC Riverside which I'm not going to.

well the UC's say you can "design your own major" with departmental approval, maybe i can look into that. since i don't want to be doing economics all the time, i also want to take classes in advertising, marketing, management, sales, other business topics, etc (if the UC has them...)
