questions about bizecon

What are the differences between "Business Economics" and just plain "Economics"?

I really want to do "Business Administration", but the college I'm probably going to attend (UCSB), doesn't have that. They do have "Businss Economics." So also what are the differences between Business Administration and Business Economics?

And are there different job opportunities for Business Administration majors vs Business Economics majors?

(p.s. i didn't get into ucla, but i posted here b/c i know a lot of you lucky ucla kids are considering bizecon at ucla, so you may be familiar with the nuiances of the majors)

Business economics requires that you take courses in finance, accounting, and management in addition to your economics courses. Straight econ only carries the economics requirements and allows you greater freedom in selecting electives. In reality, a straight econ student could elect to take the finance and accounting courses and end up with the same education, though I think that the former have priority when it comes to registration at UCLA.

I think business economics is a fantastic major. It has a much broader range of applicability than bus admin which is simply focused on how a business is run.
