can anyone help me, everyone is applying to brown from my school?

so what's the prob?

universities won't look at how many people from individual schools apply. they will look at how many people from a particular region apply, so don't worry.

Does that mean you are screwed if you live in a poor town with bad stats, huge illegals population, but, by region, are living in one of the richest counties?

is that really relevant? u sent in ur app, nothing you can do about it now....no sense in thinking you're screwed cause u live in a rich county, and no sense in resting easy cause someone tells u that the fact that you come from a poor area is gonna help u...

Let it be- greatest three word phrase in history...thanks John

Didn't Paul do Let it Be?

Let It Be is definitely a Paul McCartney song ... although it does sound Lennon-ish.

"poor town with bad stats, huge illegals population, but, by region, are living in one of the richest counties"

Isn't that really rare?

I doubt Brown has per-school quotas. Last year, 14 students from my high school went to Brown.

"14 students from my high school went to Brown"

Wow, it is a school full of geniuses or just a fluke?

Well, my school is relatively competitive. There are about 60 students in the "honors track." Also, someone who works at the school may have a connection to someone on Brown admissions, but it's just a rumor.

Still, it's difficult to predict the amount of Brownies my school will produce each year. Some years, only 1 or 2 kids go. Other years, 13 or 14 do.

1 other person from my school is going to brown (so far). usually, though, my school does terribly with brown. over the previous 5 years, 1 person (!) has gotten into brown, and that was off the wait list too. so everyone told us that we were making a mistake by applying to brown, that even if we were the Uber Students of the Year, we still wouldn't make it in because our school had some black mark on it. but we got in! yay!
