Rank:40 out of 500.(estimate)
SAT: 1940!! blah! (retaking) 680M, 550CR, 710W
3 AP's (Stats,USH,French Lit) this year and 5 more next year.
AP Chem, AP Physics,AP Comp,AP Calc, AP World.
Varsity Soccer and Track
National Honor Society
French Honor Society
A few EC's (gotta find the list for total hrs)
Governor's school of Engineering and Tech
SAT II's: Math IIC, Physics and French (Hopefully all 800's)

B.U.M.P.
Someone please answer

I thought CC was full of ppl that love criticizing ppl. What the hell!!!!!!!!!

definitely bring up that SAT score and try to work on boosting up that rank and GPA even higher. Otherwise, NYU or Rice U would prbbly be a pretty good match. Here are some safeties:
NYU
Rice
JHU(maybe slight reach)
Chicago U
All the SUNY schools
and maybe........Tulane....
I dunno...but that's a list of safeties. Matches would be a diff. story.

you have to be a little more specific because there are many many safety schools. Since ur in NJ, i'd say rutgers, tcnj, and stockton are safeties. and the post above is incorrect because jhu and nyu are definitely reaches with that sat score. bring it up to a 2100 and a lot more opportunites will open up.

I'm think of bring my SAT's to a 2200. I'm a math and science type of guy. Did not sleep day before, so....... Def 800 math next time. Give me some math schools. Will add list of EC's soon.

Be more specific in what kind of safety school you're looking for.

There are hundreds (if not thousands) of colleges and universities out there, and all but about 50 of them are safeties for you.

Do I have a chance at Ivy's or Prestigious schools?

Your SAT score and rank seem a bit low for Ivy leagues, but not impossible. For safeties some good schools are U Pitt, TCNJ, Rutgers, Rider, Rowan, Monmouth. btw im going to governor's school of engineering and technology too!

Who are you kidding, Harvard, dude, all the way!

For SAT II's, 800 IIC, 790 French, 650 Physics(retaking!)

Harvard: Reach
WSU: Safety

It bothers me when people put "black male" into their topics because it makes one assume that you think your URM status is the most important part of your application. Have great scores and EC's and make your URM status the icing. That being said, if you can get your SAT score in the 2150-2200 range, I think you'll be able to attend some pretty "prestigious" colleges espicially with that 800 IIC.

being a black male, YOU'VE GOT IT MADE

"emperor550" I put it because I think's it catches people's attention, not because of my URM status. I know what ur thinking and I don't blame you. I never thought of it that way.

Does being black give you that much of an advantage. Most colleges say that minority status is considered, not important. (I may be wrong)

I told a friend of mine that my dream school was MIT and he laughed.

Does anyone know the rankings for best aerospace engineering/Astrophysics universities?
