My 'shut up' was directed to the spam post about $40,000 for GRE tutoring or whatever. Not intended for you elektrotechnik. Best of luck.

sorry goldenbear; I feel a bit embarassed...again.

GoldenBeaR6

Oh.. it is clear....i have read once that post too, it was really bad.
And thanks for your comment. :D

A friend called MIT today and was informed that the result is being sent out.

^^^ I think you're right! I just saw a log today from someone who got accepted into the EECS program at MIT. The person was notified via email though.

Check out this website : thegradcafe.com.....there are some guys, 3-4, admitted.

Just for reference, when I received my rejection letter from MIT EECS, it was postmarked February 20, 2003, and dated two days earlier.

Oh, im_blue, you mean that they sent the results out randomly, not admits first and then rejects, isn't it?

ok guys..those who applied to Stanford..what does the letter look like (if accepted or rejected)? Is there a difference? Is an accepted letter thicker or by any means different? I just got a freaking letter from Stanford and I don't wanna open the damn thing..lol.

Good luck. Strength and Honor!

When I was accepted to Stanford EE, they sent me an e-mail first (March 13, 2003) and followed up with a thick envelope in the mail.

im_blue

Thanks for your reply. And for MIT you received email first and followed by mail? Any opinion abut sending results out at MIT? They would send admits first and then rejects, or else?

For MIT, I only received a letter in a small envelope in the mail. It's hard to predict when they send admits and rejects because they could make decisions in several rounds. For example, I heard that some students students were accepted at Stanford via e-mail a week before I was.

Thanks for youre reply, im_blue, it is very useful.

That means they send emails randomly to applicants, some would receive but some not. For sure, veryone will receive a mail from there. Moreover, if we receive a thick envelope, we should be happy, on the other hand, a slim envelope......we should throw it away.... :)
