Does Haverford actually have any? If not, what inspired the mascot?

Yeah, they do have them.

That's sweet. I've never seen one.

Not long ago, D saw one through the window in the dining center.

My D is applying ED.

When we visited, she just loved the squirrels! (There was a very chilled out cat, too, on the walkway into one of the buildings, being petted by everyone who passed by.)

We were also bowled over by the joyful feeling on campus.

Good luck, SBmom! Our D has definitely found a "home."

archermom,

My fondest hope is that my D will find the same home. Nevertheless, the other apps are ready in case ED doesn't work out. If it comes through my D may want to email your D. :) Crossed fingers, toes, legs, etc.

Yes, everything is crossed. I vividly recall the "waiting game." And, if it comes to pass, please let me know so our Ds can connect. Best...

I don't believe Haverford has an official mascot...I mean, we're officially "The Fords" when it comes to athletics and most view the black squirrel as our mascot (we do have a black squirrel costume that is frequently worn by one member of the community during plenary...in addition to tons of squirrel stuff in the book store). However, I've heard of other mascots here- The Fighting Quaker Robots or even "the Bees" for XC.
