blackballed!

finnjav, no Harvard? what a bunch of losers...

but seriously, back to the OP, why would you want to attend a school that is so petty that they penalize innocent students for the alleged transgressions of the GC!?

their not wanting me makes me want them more!! hard to get...
jk

My school hasn't sent someone to HYPSM in 7 years, and not to HYP in about 12.

wowza! thats a lotta years!

Beat you, Finnjav...

ED/EA:
3 Princeton
5 Columbia
2 Cornell
0 Dartmouth
2 Brown
3 Yale
6 Harvard
5 UPenn

I think I've already said this but something like 23% of my class got into an ivy early. Scary.

1 harvard, 1 yale, 4 browns, 2 columbias, a bunch of dartmouths, a couple upenns, a couple cornells....... no stanfords... (stanford hates us.... Berkeley-Stanford rivalry thing)... but my high school usually does WAY better during normal admissions.

zant u go to a crazy prep school its expected!

1 Princeton
1 Dartmouth

and thats it. for now...

i also want to say that ivyboy's blueballs comment was hilarious but everyone seemed to ignore it. IT WAS FUNNY! HAHAHAHAHAHA!... albeit immature.

I attribute the lack of acceptances to the fact that our counseling office screws people over on purpose, constantly. We have over 400 kids in a class and it's a really good school and the talent is there, but the counselers actually discourage you from applying to anywhere out side of Minnesota. Absolutely ridiculous.

Last year:
1 Harvard, 1 Yale, 1 MIT, 2 Duke, 2 Cornell, 1 Stanford, 1 Dartmouth, 0 Penn, 1 Columbia, 0 Brown, 0 princeton, 4 JHU (Medicine)...and this is out of a class of 53.

This year, we expect about 15-20 out of our 73 seniors to get into top schools. Mind u this is overseas, in a small, private, Christian int'l school, not in a big city...

at mine, it's pretty small. we sent 1 to harvard and 1 to stanford last year. a lot to places like UC berkley and UCLA tho, so not super shabby.

but i'm the first person since 1972 to go to princeton! woo hoo!

we get 60 or so Ivy acceptances every year.
I'm too lazy to count them individually, or add the other top schools.

so far, 1 pton and 1 brown

our school is blacklisted by stanford because we had a top applicant screw the system by hiring a college "counselor" which manipulated his stats for ea, after being accepted ea he decided to go to pton!!

stop bragging about your high schools people, its lame.

Jealous? :p
j/k
it's not really bragging, it's just demonstrating that we get what we paid for...you can't really expect a $27K/year education to be on the same level as a public school.

Okay...that's enough. This whole thread is nauseating. Do you children need an adult to remind you of your manners?

I would hope Princeton prefers interesting people with interesting lives rather than those who have nothing better to do than sit on a chatboard denigrating public schools; as if patting yourselves on the back for Ivy acceptances were not enough to inflate your egos to levels beyond comprehension of the decent man.

***? Do you have nothing better to do than "correct" us for pointing out the fact that private schools actually DO have a higher acceptance rate to Ivy-league schools? Why are all you people getting so offended by this thread? Don't read it if you don't want to see the numbers; I personally find the trends fascinating.

My school is public.....haha
and the only reason that I only included the Ivy number is because thats easier to quantify than, say, the number of students we send to 'top' schools. Ivy is just an old football group with bad weather (but I like it haha).
I can give other numbers, or more specific, if anyone actually cares.

don't be hatin', CC is for lovers not for haters.... haha :)

in my school's 40 year history we've sent 1 to harvard, 1 to stanford, 1 to cornell....yeap...so many of them i lose track!...right

the odds for me look quite sunny...
