I received my AP scores and I got a 3 on AP Chem and 4s on AP Lang and AP US. I know these aren’t good but would they hurt me for admission? And if a school doesn’t take 3 for credit does that mean they don’t consider it an okay score?
Also, would a 90% UW in AP Chem correlate logically to a 3? This was the first year my school ran the class.
Schools don’t even see your AP scores unless you send them…which often isn’t until after admission.
@a20171 Grades have absolutely no relation to your score on the AP test. I went to a competitive school were grades ranged from 70-100%, and I believe everyone in my class got a 5 simply because of the teacher. Some teachers of AP courses simply don’t cover everything, or not in depth enough because they don’t go fast enough. There really is no correlation(in theory there should be, but it is simply impossible to hold all AP teachers accountable like that).
Grades in the course should have correlation to AP test scores within the same high school. The relationship is weaker across high schools, since differences in course quality and grade inflation can be large between different high schools.
