Blenders in the Dorm?

My RA doesn't know the answer to this so I decided to ask here: Are we allowed to have blenders in the dorms?

I looked through the list of prohibited things and all I see are things that have the potential to start fires.

And yes, I know I can just bring one and hide it even if it isn't allowed, but I'm a bit iffy if I'm trying to make a smoothie and my RA walks by and hears the blender go off.

I REALLY want a Magic Bullet for my room.

I doubt they would care if it’s not after hours. If you are still worried, maybe try the common room or something. There are outlets there.

Just bring one and see how it goes. I’m bringing a rice cooker and probablt a crock pot.

@overachiever92 dude you can’t bring a rice booker and a crock pot… lol well technically not. they’re not allowed according to the rules but uhh yeaa…

FYI: the rules with the dorms is “out of sight, out of mind.” As long as you aren’t blending crazy stuff at 1 AM, you’ll be fine.

What they don’t know, won’t hurt them…

Basically, they’ll have room inspections around 4th week. The kicker is that RAs aren’t allowed to touch ANYTHING or MOVE ANYTHING in your room. So if you’ve got a blender/rice cooker/whatever, just throw a blanket on top of it when 4th week rolls around and they won’t/can’t do ****.

^ 4th week? I thought it was 8/9 or 10th week? (My RAs blow, I never know when inspection are.)

I could be misinformed, silvercross. The bottom line being that you’ll know when room inspections are and know when to hide your stuff.

Side note: if they can tell beyond a reasonable doubt that you are hiding a prohibited item under a blanket/towel/etc. they can still issue a warning. I know someone that got issued a warning for a microwave because it was obvious by the way the blanket molded to the shape of the microwave what was underneath.

Planning on opening up a Jamba Juice in your dorm? Good way for easy side money I guess.

Magic bullet. It’s small, portable and you can hide it fairly easily.
