I am thinking about living at the Block because they are giving me a reasonable deal. But someone told me that there are a lot of parties over there(especially on the roof) and it is really distracting. So does anyone know anything more related to this topic? Should I stay here or avoid it? I study a lot and I don't drink. Thanks

The parties are not a reason to stay there or avoid it. However, the quality of the apartments are debatable. Thin walls, crappy hallways, etc. They’re one of the two big apartment chains (Block and Quarters) which have lots of mass produced student housing of mediocre quality.

meg, can’t you look around for a condominium around west campus? I toured the Block and noticed that their floors do not have the floor molding (look at their buildings… besides the model). That is one sign that they are cheap and mass produced.

Do you mind telling me the deal that they’re offering you?

This is what’s going to happen at the block:

a) You love to party, you can sleep through lots of noise on the weekend, you don’t mind the sticky smelly hallways that people vomit in (not that often) and drag their trash through, thin walls that amplify the sound, the worst management in the world, but hey at least your apartment is nice-ish

b) You’re going to be annoyed with people from category A making your life miserable. My friend always slept with earplugs FYI, but hey it was a nice apt. I’m even considering living there now if they have good enough deals.

Look at 21 Rio. It’s basically the nicest place that is not a condo. It’s very reasonably priced to, for what you get. Although it’s REALLY late to be trying to find anything for this fall right now.

Sometimes, if you are lucky, you could find a good condo 1/1 the price of one of the rooms at 21 Rio.

@xtra, but now they are out of 1/1s at 21 rio and i am filled with regret.

I have a 1/1 at West Campus that got burglarized. Vachee, are you interested ? Prices negotiable. lol.

Lol, sure. Where’s it located, when’s it available, how much, deposit, utilties, etc etc. Oh and pics. Send me a PM.
