Block schedule

Don'tcha just love it? I think if I had to go to all my classes every day I would be so crazy stressed out.

Block schedule=<333333333333333333333333333

Block schedule=more procrastinating. Which unfortunately, I do a lot of. :)

Yeah, that's true. XD I did sooooo much of that this last year.

hmm i like my normal scheduling
i think id die if i had 2 hours of the same teacher in one time
but it does sound nice

ehhh, you get used to it.

It's definitely not fun in some classes though, you look at the clock thinking "it must be almost time to go" and you still have an hour. XD not fun.

I love my schedule- it rotates around on a 7 day rotation schedule. It keeps things from getting boring.

However, I never actually get to "know" my exact schedule until about April-May... oh well- not hard to go to my locker to see what's next.

My D had block 9,10,11/ They now changed to 7 classes, she HATES it. Because of the change, all the IB students are forced to take on level gov/econ, cuz it is a state req and ap of them will not fit into their schedule. Anyways, D is very upset over not having block anymore, says"how much can you discuss, learn" in 50 minutes!

Check out Colorado College if you like the idea of the block plan.

That's how I feel as well. Whenever we have minimum days at my school now, it feels like we can't do anything so we end up just taking a quiz or watching a movie or something because the teachers (and the students for that matter) are used to having 90 or so minutes to get things done.

Quite a bit...

Besides, for most of the schools that I'm applying to, the typical class is only 50 minutes.

I guess if the teachers are good at consolidating things it works.

I think it's different if you're used to block schedules because the teachers are able to go WAY more in-depth because they have a longer time to explain.

But then I guess it also makes sense because if you meet every time you make up for lost time...I suppose it's pretty much an even trade.

I just prefer block.

I like "block" too. With my rotation, a class can either be 50 minutes or 75, and it switches around what period of the day it is.

We had this random schedule last year...

Monday we went to 1-6 and they were like 50 mins.
Tuesday and Thursday we went to 1,3,5 and 7.
Wednesday and Friday we went to 2,4,6 and 7.
I don't know what genius came up with that one, but we all HATED it, so they decided to listen to the students (GASP, yes it actually happens once in a while!) and go back to block schedule this year. It makes us all happy. :)

my school used to have block schedule and i LOVED it
but, after sophomore year it got changed
the teachers said they would give less hw, but they gave more :(
the guidance counselors told us that our class was the one most screwed up by this, because the seniors are basically done and frosh are just beginning.

Block scheduling= smartest thing my school has done

I really like block scheduling, but it gets kind of hard to memorize all your friends' schedules and sometimes even your own.

We're all used to it. XD And a lot of times we'll just be like "What class do you have right now?" so it's not that big a deal. Because since we have SLCs a bunch of us only have like 1 class together. So yeah it's hard to keep up.

My school is on a rotating college block schedule, which means I only have some classes twice a week. Best of all, I only have around 4 hours worth of school time each day.

I like block schedule, and it's not too hard to memorize your friends' schedules, contrary to what bubbly says. But I do procrastinate rather more with block schedule....

my high school has a 4 by 4 block schedule
