amandakayak - isn’t that band facility fabulous! My DH and son about fainted at the 68 matched Stradevarious trumpets!!! And you’re right - everyone there was so nice and welcoming.

GRCxx3 Good luck to your son this year! I assume he starts soon.

Thanks sax! He’ll be up there next week for Band Camp!

Good luck to your son! I really hope he makes it!!!

Thanks, amadakayak! :)

Doing the Happy Dance here! DS made the Blue Band!!!

Amandakayak - we will be going back up there today (long story!) and I will let you know his impressions/thoughts about the whole process. All I have gotten so far is that is he is very sore from all the marching - but he had fun!

okay…slowing down the happy dance…seems like there are a few limited cuts to be made today. So, keeping fingers crossed!!!

Crossing fingers here too…

THAT’S AWESOME!!! Will also keep fingers crossed.

If he does make the band you will get an opportunity to buy 2 tx to most of the games. Usually located with the dance and cheerleader parents very low in the end zone.

Grcxx3, Realizing I missed you at the beginning of the week. (We listed our house a couple weeks ago and have been a little, shall we say, distracted.) I’ll pm my phone #, in case you are free or I can do anything to help. Also, keeping fingers crossed!

Back to doing the Happy Dance!

Oh my - he is SOOO happy but looks absolutely exhausted. I just hope that now that the “pressure” of the band auditions are over, he can chill out a bit!

YEAH!!! Congratulations to GrcxxSon!!!

Thanks, everyone! We are all so excited and proud of him! Now…I just hope he can get a good night’s sleep - he needs it!

YEAH!!! Glad everything worked out today! My son is exhausted from his HS band camp these last 4 days, and they don’t even do that high step! Seems like he might need to start conditioning now if he stands a hope. Right now he’s napping after 9 hrs in the sun.

Congrats Grcxx3 to your whole family!

My sons Blue band experience took him all over the US for 3 years culminating in the Rose Bowl Parade and game in Calif. He had the time of his life.

The first time he marched out of that tunnel playing the fight song to a screaming throng of 106,000 people wearing Blue and White is a moment he will never forget. He is a fan for life!

Good wishes and good memories to your entire family!

Was that the Notre Dame game, Sax? That was an amazing crowd.

This is slipjig’s mom. Big congrats to your son Grcxx3! Very happy for all of you.

Just took slipjig up today. Best wishes to all our new freshmen.

congrats to your son Grcxx3. I saw him today and he looked thrilled.

Sorry we did not get a chance to meet in person, RA training was pretty hectic and am just starting to relax now.
