Blue Book Test 6 Sec 3???

I just got SEVEN wrong in this section and I was expecting to do really well on this test (2250+) is it possible this section was harder than most or was it just me because I'm freaking out I'm taking the SAT saturday!!

This was critical reading by the way.

Just took it–missed 4, 8, and 22. I’ve been averaging about 1-3 incorrect answers per section, so I didn’t see it as especially challenging. However, I noticed that the first long passage had some weird-ass questions that were a little TOO general. Luckily, I actually liked reading that passage so I was alright on those questions.

I say it just changes from person to person–a test you could get a perfect score on could absolutely murder me–who knows? Just play devil’s advocate on all answers you’re unsure of and take it easy. How have you been doing on other single CR sections?

And a note: I’m no SAT-hacker or something. But I know that freaking out can be no good! I’ve actually got the test this Saturday too and I’m also shooting for a 2200.

IMO, the SAT doesn’t indicate how much you know about math, reading, or writing. I think it’s about being in the right mindset and above all, knowing the test itself. The SAT tests your knowledge of the SAT, nothing more. Though I can’t say I’m the most prepared or the guy to be telling you to take it easy (I’ve actually missed the last three days of school to study…), I definitely can let you know that some silly little CR section (and this one WAS weird…) shouldn’t scare you. Keep practicing, and I wish you luck this Saturday!

@Xenmas021‌ thanks for the insight! I’m thinking I may have just had more trouble because I was taking that test tired and I have more trouble with CR than I have with math when i’m tired (i got an 800 on the math portion of this particular test) so I’m just going to take another test today and hopefully won’t have the same result, because I usually only get one or two wrong per section. Thanks for the advice and good luck to you also!

You probably just had a bad day. If you do a lot of these and this one was outside the range I would suggest just ignoring it. Do another to get your confidence back and make sure you have maximum focus when you’re taking the real test.

I guess it was hard. I got 2 wrong. I usually get none or one careless mistake. some questions were just dumb-.- and the passages were no better. don’t beat ur self over It. sometimes the passage just does not suit you
