Just out of curiosity, were any of the four degrees on this forum actually awake early enough for breakfast this morning? Blue weekends rock!

lol...got up at 9, then told my half asleep roommates i'd get breakfast for them. they were setting up lunch when i got to mitch's. woopsies. they still had cereal out though :)

i didn't even go to bed that late-2215

ahhhhh, bliss! :D
let's just wait 'til school starts rolling.

ahhh i woke up at 615 and hiked eagle's peak with some friends :) the best use of a blue weekend so far... now homework. sometime

Yeah, we woke up at 0745 b/c we were going to go to Eagle's Peak at 0900. It turns out we could have slept in a little more because they delayed it an hour. Unfortunately, we got rained on near the base on the way back and we were drenched by the time we got back.

Wow, I think I must have slept until noon during my first blue weekend last year. Those are what keep four degrees sane.

No more late Saturdays for me though; I was up at 0515 this morning. Not that I'm complaining... ;)

I went for a forty minute run. Apparently hiking up to Eagle's Peak isn't great exercise for people on Recondo so I didn't go.

Eagles Peak was beautiful this morning.

Awesome they are!

I went to a shooting range this morning for small arms team practice. 'Twas fun! The only bad part was getting up at 0530 so we could get a spot before too many people showed up.

Well, I got up at 5:40 as usual just in case someone is keeping records. My stupid dogs saw rabbits and thought they'd bring home some dinner.

Ditto on the Eagle's Peak. It was definitely worth getting up at 5:40... even though we were delayed about an hour and a half later than the planned time lol

I think I got up at 1200 then had a 4 hour nap starting at 1400! Exhausting being out of the state on the weekend. :)

What exactly are Blue Weekends, and how often do they occur?

blue weekends = no training.. i'd guess it's about 50/50, not too sure though

Most weekends are actually blue. I'd say it's more like 80/20.

So you are basically free to do what you want (with normal restrictions of course)?
What do you do on training weekends?

yep, it was great.

I woke up around 11ish and relaxed in the oasis/library the whole day and got some food at Arnie's.

Good stuff

PM7, blue weekends are what most people think of as a normal weekend. You're done after LMD on Friday, have no training, and can spend your time however you want (within reason, of course).

Silver weekends are generally a little less fun. Silver means that there's some sort of training on Saturday morning. It could be a SAMI, a parade, some CBT (computer-based training), Comm's Challenge prep, etc, or some combination of the above. You're generally done by noon and then free for the rest of the weekend, so it's not that bad.

yeah, we have a SAMI next weekend, then another training weekend, then Parents Weekend!

woohoo for parents weekend!

I'll second that! Do the 4* CCers want to get together sometime during the weekend?
