Hey I was wondering what are the differences between a BM in music theatre like ocu and a BFA and why is it a BM rather than that of a BFA? Are there any huge differences between the degree progams and such. I just wanna know so if you do please tell me! Thanks!

I don't think there are huge differences, and in both cases you get all areas of acting, dance, and singing; however, in a BM degree you will take more of the other music courses (besides singing / voice lessons) and possibly more advanced music courses than in a BFA degree. You can get course requirements for different programs and compare them. I think there are differences among BFA programs, but in some of them you might have more acting or more dance than you would in some of the BM programs. I think there are also differences in requirements among the BM degrees, so it is good to look at details.

The BM in MT at OCU is very balanced MT training in all 3 areas, but with a greater emphasis on all aspects of Music. This includes piano, aural training, and theory. In fact, and you can correct me if I am wrong, I believe my d was told that when she graduates from OCU she will also have a minor in Music Theory. Hope this helps.
