BME 100 Textbook?

To anyone who has taken bme 100 modeling cellular and molecular systems (preferably this past semester) i have two questions

First, is the textbook for the class Physical Chemistry Vol. 1 by Atkins?

also, how does the class typically go? (like what topics are covered first, etc.) i looked at the class synopsis and it seems pretty scattered and random (from kinetics to gene stuff, maybe the course is like that idk) so I'd really appreciate input from a dukie who has already taken the course.
Thanks =)

I was in that course this semester but it's taught by a different professor this semester than next so the content may change. First yes that is the textbook (at least it still is to the best of my knowledge), and its a fairly well written. The course content doesn't jump around that much... you spend the first half of the course doing Thermodynamics, then a little bit of Kinetics before moving on to modeling of molecular systems. The last part of the course is interesting especially modeling with MATLAB. The only bad part about the course was that we had 3 labs and 3 computer projects. The labs were spread throughout the semester, but the computer labs (all of which are modeling) were pushed to the end of the semester and we had 2 due in one week. Hopefully that doesn't happen to you, and since it is a required course I can't recommend it either way anyway except to say good luck. It is one of the harder core BME courses, but you can do well if you stay on top of the content.
