BME major: what is it good for?

I'm a highschool senior now and i'm thinking about biomedical engineering as a major. My sister told me that the major itself is very versatile for most careers in the sciences or even medical fields. However, she also told me that if you go into BME, you're GPA is likely to take a hit, making it harder to get into med school or something of that nature. Well the thing is, I want to go to pharmacy school, but I don't know if I want to do a prepharmacy program because most schools that offer it don't have very good financial aid. So does anyone out there know if BME would be a good major to go with if I was shooting for pharmacy school? I also want a major that's kind of got a good back up plan in case it turns out pharmacy isn't meant for me. That's why I wasn't so sure about being a biology major. If someone has by any chance gone through this already or has to make a similar decision could just give me their opinion, that'd be awesome. Thanks :)

Well im still a highschool senior or will be this fall. BUt my sister just recently graduated from University of Califronia Riverside with a BIO Major, and is headign for pharmacy school this coming fall. If you plan on going into BME, ive heard that getting a job will be hard because most employers want one who has a masters or phd. If you somehow decide that u won’t go into pharmacy when your a bio majoy, im pretty sure that u can still go to grad school, BME or Bio somehow youlll have to go into a upper level school, BME or Bio -----> Pharmacy school or grad school
