how much homework do u get a night at top boarding schools like Milton, Groton, Choate etc? what are some ways to manage it??
every school will share this info with you. often they use an approximation like 45 min per class per night. But every kid works at a different pace
I have posted this elsewhere, but here goes…
-
we found that it depended upon the course, the level of the course, your preparation for it or previous exposure to the material, and the teacher.
-
Some classes involved well over an hour of homework per night 9th grade year because it was a higher level course.
-
There are some teachers who LOVE group work…this actually took more time and was problematic (this could be a dedicated post).
-
If you are coming into 9th grade and will be taking Honors Pre-Calc, then you most likely will have more than 45 minutes of homework per night in that class - if you are a typical kid. If you are a genius, like many of you are, then it will take less time.
-
Upper level foreign language classes often involve more projects or presentations - sometimes translating large passages.
Bottom line is this: The homework is manageable.
