Boarding School Applicants for Entry Year: 2012

Like most people I’m applying to Exeter, Andover, Hotchkiss and possibly SPS, but unlike most people I am also applying to St. Albans.

Im applying for 9th
so far, my list is:
Exeter, Andover, Lawrenceville, Deerfeild.
Tell me more about schools so i can add to this list.

You have to research them to find more about them. Try Boarding School Reviews, and also search around this site. Who knows what you’ll find.

My list has changed since I went to a TSAO convention. SPS, Andover, Exeter, Blair, St. Andrews, NMH, Stevenson. Have to knock off either Andover or Exeter. Probably Exeter… But who knows? I’m conflicted /:

@chukker: Bro bro said no-no to Taft. Idk why. When he saw me wearing a GoChoate bracelet he told me to tear it apart (: He’s hilarious.

@rizzledrizzle I had a cousin who went to Taft for a year and didn’t feel it was right for him. I don’t know why, it seems like a great school!

Faithlara, I am applying for tenth grade
This weekend my interviewer asked where else I was looking and then had me compare those other schools to theirs. I wanted to die.

Rizzle,
Your brother sounds like a comedian. He’d do well on stand up night at Deerfield. I have the same bracelet BTW.
Yeah, Taft…I know a few people who have left, but way more who stayed. And a ton who are applying, especially for crew–if that is your thing, it is worth a look.

Bumpit…

I’m interviewing at Blair this weekend! I’m so exited. I’ve been hard at work on my applications and although at times I feel incredibly overwhelmed, I’ve been making good time! How about you all?

@chukkerhead that would definately be a hard one to answer! I feel like im soo behind in my applications and I had some problems with registering for the ssat because for some reason my fee waiver didnt work but were working it out. Its just that I have sooo much work at school!

@faithlara I am taking my SSAT this week and I also feel way behind in applications. Too much work at school plus tests and sports. Seriously games don’t end until after five then you have to change and get home. And this term grades really matter with applications, so it is all about the cram. My big fear is that Xmas break is going to spent writing and revising. It would be great to be done before then but I know there is NO WAY. Another problem is I still have two more schools to visit so I’m waiting until then to start with the essays.

@ballerina22, I have a Skype interview coming up with Blair in a few weeks! I’m so excited. Let me know how your’s goes.

I haven’t really been able to spend too much time on applications, due to homework, preparation for test etc.

BLAIR WAS ABSOLUTELY AMAZING!!! I may seem a little too emphatic right now, but trust me, once you see the campus, you will be, too. Blair is perfect!!! It was snowing (?!) yesterday when I visited, and the campus looked like something out of a picture book. Better yet, all the students were so exited about the snow that they were jumping around and playing, and it seemed like such a warm, fun environment. The facilities were all 1st rate. They have recently redone the athletic building, and it is stunning! The dance studio was amazing, too (there was a huge window on one side so you could look out and see a breathtaking view of the campus.) I don’t know if you’re a girl or a boy, but the girl’s junior dorm was like a lodge! It was full of dark wood with a fire place and everything, ggahhhh I just can’t get over it. To top it all off, my tour guide was so good! She was very fond of the school, and she was incredibly nice and helpful. I think my interview went well, or at least I hope so, because it would be an absolute honor for me to go to Blair. Okay, this was a little rambly lol, so I’m gonna go ahead and shut up now. Go Blair!

Blair blair blair!!! Gahhh you make me so excitedd!!

Blair week in 2 weeks. We are going to win back the Potter-Kelly cup!

I just visited a local, all-girls day school and it was amazing too!!! Ugh I feel so conflicted, even though I haven’t been accepted anywhere yet hahah. Truthfully, I would be more than happy to go to any of these places, so if I get accepted to more than 1, I don’t know what I’ll do!

How are those essays coming guys? I wish you all the best in this long process…but believe me when I say going through it pays of in the long run!

Peddie Week…sorry, cup is staying.

No way. We had it for like 25 years. Or something. We get it back. Well, our swim team is amazing. No denying that one.
