EHhh, thread one is irrevelant, 2008 drug thing with a few students at Andover? Not very important, IMO. Three students don’t determine that Andover is a druggie school.

Is there a topic about the complete selection of boarding schools and their pluses and minuses?
Also
Could someone post the ranking list of the highest ivy acceptance boarding schools?

Just saying: Acceptance to Ivies DOES NOT mean that one school is better than the other. Going through this college application process with my sibling shows me that honestly, many Ivies offer the same as top colleges, such as UChicago, Georgetown, etc. This is coming from a kid whose father went to one of the HYP schools. So anyone reading this: please don’t base your high school decision based on Ivy League acceptance.

@823491, What’s with you and constantly making these boarding schools look bad?! You WILL have druggies, truants, and delinquents at even the best of high schools (Andover). Not applying to a certain school because of a few incidents years ago is truly foolish. For every article there is on TT-school X having a scandal, I’m sure there are many more articles praising that school and its alumni.

Exactly! Agreed. Totally. Steve Jobs went to Reed! :)

Hey guys
Im a bit worried because I rushed through my candidate profile on gateway to prep schools. There’s no way to edit it and I was wondering I I should just create a new account if I could…like for instance my name has a suffix on it (which it doesn’t) and gateway wont let me change it…
Could I just email the schools additional information that I want them to know? Or tell them over the interview…
I’m worried that my carelessness on my profile will affect my chances D:

I’m not sure, but you could try contacting the schools for information?

quick question - anyone knows what the “P” at the end of some names on the Andover Alumni Representative list stands for? parent?

I’m not too sure but it doesn’t stand for parent because my interviewer had a P at the end of his name and he was an actual student who went there.

I means Parent with the year their child graduated(s).

hmm okay! by the way anyone applying to choate?

I’m applying to choate!

hey for andover alumni interviews, are you supposed to contact the interviewer yourself? because i contacted a few via email but none of them have responded so far. should i follow up with a text message / call?

Ikim, You candidate profile is just an broad picture of who you are. You want to submit it as soon as possible. Spend all your time on your essays, the things that will make you stand out and define you ;)

Blehjoints, I was curious about this too, and yes, you must contact the alumni yourself (Which reminds me that I need to do that ASAP! haha)

haha! they havent responded to me! maybe their emails are outdated or something. do you think i should text message one of them to follow up? HAHA

For gateway it’s okay if I do the recommendations by paper, right? Will it let me skip over that tab and continue on to submit it?

@azpandaman - i finally got myself an interview :D

Hotchkiss, Andover, Deerfield, Exeter, St. Pauls!!!

I’ve posted this on several threads, so sorry if this becomes repetitive, but it’s slightly urgent. My spanish teacher has just gone out of down before I could ask her for a rec (I know I’ve waited too late) but would the best thing to do be to email her as soon as possible to let her know or just to wait until after break. This is for middlesex, I wasn’t quite sure if I was applying there that’s why I was holding it off. Do you know if they offer electronic recommendations?
