Boarding School Applicants for Entry Year: 2012

Okay, everybody- thanks! Each step of the app process is SO complicated- each school has its own little thing, etc., etc., etc… arghh!!! It took me two weeks just to untangle the recs.

On a happier note, I just received Choate’s awesome holiday card and I believe it is now my first choice. It was unbelievably funny- check it out at [Holidays by JibJab Sendables - Christmas - Video shared by Whitaker](JibJab). According to the email, a first year AO made it and left him/herself out of the video “purposefully”. You’ll see why once you watch it!!!  :D

P.S. I positively love the Choate AO who interviewed me, and it’s hilarious because he appears in the video disco dancing.

@CherryRose; I relate to your love for Choate. It’s one of my top choices too. My interviewer was so enthusiastic and even showed me iTunes radio in the middle of the interview (which I don’t know of, since I live in China xD).

Is anyone applying to Berkshire?

This year has gone by eerily fast, but these last few months 'till M10 will probably be agonizingly slow.

For the ssat online application, if I’m sending my recommendations to the schools directly will it still let me send the application separately? Or how does that work if I tell my teachers to send them to SSAT? Do they photocopy them first, give them to SSAT, then SSAT distributes them all to schools?

Merry Christmas Eve, or 4th night of Hannukah everyone. I hope next year we’re all itching to get back to our prospective BS’s from winter vacation.

Is it weird that I sleep early and want winter break to be over just for M10 to come? Its scary how much I want this.

Exactly 11 weeks 'till M10

Is anyone else here applying to Peddie?

^i wanted to but my mom said that it’s too far away :(

I’m applying to peddie, what year are you applying for?

I’m applying for ninth grade, what about you?

Either repeat 10th or regular 11th. Haven’t decided yet, yes I know it’s usually the first decision when applying hah. But I have pretty much everything finished just can’t decide which grade.

I’m about a third of the way done with Peddie’s essays. As stressful (for me at least) as it is to write essays, I am actually enjoying their questions! The only challenging thing for me was coming up with what I actually wanted to write! Now it’s trying to figure out how much the expect us to write (especially for the short answers) because they don’t have any word limits. What other schools are you applying to?

@CherryRose I was just reading over this forum and I thought what you said about the holiday card was SO funny and Choate is my top choice. Also, I was lucky enough to have Whitaker (the lady who made the card) be my interviewer! She is so cool. From what I’ve seen of peoples reviews on Choate AOs they all seem super nice and cool! Can’t wait until March 10th!

Hi Peddie people! I am a freshman and would be happy to answer questions you may have. Just letting you know :)

You’re a freshman at Peddie, right?

laughalittle: How hard is it to integrate as a new 11th grader at Peddie. I didn’t know if you would no since your’e a freshman, but just thought I’d ask. Also, do you have any idea how many new 11th graders there usually are?

alittlebutterfly: Are you doing the SSAT app?

@TheatreGeek1: Thanks! Choate’s holiday greeting and AO were both unique out of all the other schools’. Here’s to hoping we both get accepted there on D-Day!!! :)

@CherryRose Most definitely! What other schools are you applying to??
