OK, here’s another thought: Do students making a 3.3 at his present school attend community college? In which case, the grading system at his present school may be inflated, which you should take into account when applying to colleges. It could be that the honors track grading differs from the “regular” track.
If you can afford it, I would look for a private counselor to help you gauge safety-match-reach colleges, once you reach that point. And, of course, you could turn to CC for help.
Hi @Periwinkle, to answer your question about community college, yes, which is why I started this thread. The system he is in now is definitely inflated. We are in the process of hiring someone who is familiar with his old school, and can help guide him through the process starting right now!
